I think this skirt is the simplest piece I've ever owned. I had my eye on it for a long time but didn't find the time to make it. When I read the instruction again I understood that the skirt is only one big rectangular piece of fabric. To wear it you only have to use a tricky way of wrapping it around yourself. I was a bit anxious whether it would suddenly fall down but no such thing happened thanks to two baby pins;o)
I recently had a conversation with my sister where she told me that there are a few shops where she would never go to because the people working there are so poorly paid. I think if you have these kind of principles it's totally understandable to avoid shops like Primark for example. But I like to go there from time to time and I'm still so happy that I found this necklace there. I'm wearing it very often, also with my kids. Thank god they are not interested in mommy's jewelry, at least not when it's on me, only when it's in its jewelry box...;o)
My husband would say I'm currently obsessed with black booties. I already have a few but I just couldn't resist and ordered three more. If there is sale everywhere I just cannot resist:o) What about you girls? Do you also like black booties best or are there different colors you love? I have beige and brown ones as well but right now they don't see so much sunlight:o)
Before I met my husband I haven't been a big fan of Valentine's Day. I thought it was absolutely overrated and just another opportunity for the industry to sell their stuff. But he gave me two reasons to give in, embrace the day and be happy.
First of all, he proposed on that day. 5 years back, I found a little bottle post in my champagne glass with a small paper inside where he had drawn two rings and a qustionmark. Who could possibly say no to that?;o)
Secondly, he said to me, of course you can see that day as a possibility to spend money or feel 'forced' to give your loved ones a card or flowers. But you can also just think of it as another lovely opportunity to think of another, say Thank you and be happy together. I have to say, he had a point because if you skip all these hearts you can buy everywhere, take your own hands and MAKE something for your loved ones, than this day is actually quite nice. I love to do handicrafts anyway so it's just another opportunity for me to do something for those I love.
I'm still madly in love with my 'Soirs de Paris' sweater:o) It's just so cozy. I'm thinking about sewing a second one in blue, but I'm not sure yet about the motive. Do you have any ideas?
A perfect match for my little Parisian lady is this wonderful Rebecca Minkoff Harper Crossbody bag. I was in search of a small black bag with silver hardware for ages and I found it a while ago and am still so happy about this purchase because there are studs, ribbons and an asymmetrical shape... what more can you ask for?;o)
Today there is something different than an outfit to be seen here. When I went to the new Café 'Froilein Lo Pa' right around the corner I fell immediately in love with everything and had to take pictures on the spot. It's so cozy there and it felt a little bit like my own living room:o)
We ordered coffee and homemade apple- and carrot cake and it was absolutely delicious. Everything is freshly made and you can also buy homemade Pesto or special kind of salts. What I liked most was that there were fresh flowers on every table, the menus were covered each with a different paper, there were different tables and chairs everywhere and a beautiful wallpaper. It looked like there were hanging different plates on the wall but actually it was only the wallpaper.
